Youtube Video
I think that the argument made in this video is better made visually because I thought the way they made the video was very creative. For example, showing a lecture class with all the students holding up different notes of what they do throughout the day made this very interesting and entertaining to watch because it shows every ones different opinions. If i were to have read the article rather then watch it, it would have been less effective because it would have been to much to read to get the point across.

Creative Research Paper
The topic that I have decided to write about for my creative research paper is the importance of washing your hands. The reason why is because everyday I see people coming out of the bathroom without washing their hands (my roommate and her boyfriend) and I am always the one to get sick because they are touching everything in the apartment spreading germs. I want people to realize that washing your hands is very, very important and there are so many diseases out there that people could get from people who don't wash their hands. My paper is going to be nonfiction and I really hope that I can send out a message to people who don't like washing their hands.

Writers Style
I think that the writers style was pretty well organized. The reason why is because, first he is asking questions about people who are introverts or extroverts and if we know someone like them, he is basically trying to get the reader involved. Second he gives the definition of what is a introversion and he used some research as well as his own experience. Third he gives a percentage of how many people are introverts which is interesting because it wasn't a big percentage. Fourth he asks if they are misunderstood and he uses a lot of his own experiences. Fifth he asks if they are oppressed and he compares it with politics and actors. Sixth he asks if they are arrogant and explains how they hardly are arrogant. Last he explains to the reader how they should react and respect someone who is an introvert. Overall everything falls in order and he gets his point across because of his organization.

Truth in Advertising? Not in Politcal Ads

Truth in Advertising? Not in Political Ads
I always find it funny when I see the political Ads on T.V because I always wonder if they are true or if they are making things up to make their opponent look bad. It’s really funny when watching a speech from Obama saying that he is going to lower taxes and then watching a political ad from McCain saying that Obama wants to hire taxes and then I say to myself “okay McCain Obama just said that he wouldn’t do that, why lie?” Then I hear McCain saying that he doesn’t agree with Bush, but last night I seen Michelle Obama saying that McCain agrees 95% of the time with Bush’s decisions. I then start thinking to myself who is lying and who is telling the truth.
That is the reason why I found this article very interesting because it talks about the candidates and if their ads are true or not. I found it very disturbing when I read that in “1972 a political ad from a U.S. Senate candidate in Georgia named J.B. Stoner who was running on the National States Rights party ticket. Stoner called himself a "white racist" and his ad said the "main reason why niggers want integration is because niggers want our white women." I thought wow they really allowed that, what would this world be like if McCain had ads like that? At the same time I am not surprised because I was watching Obama speeches on YouTube and there were a lot of racist comments posted on there and I find it really sad to realize that there is still a lot of racism in the world. I really appreciate McCain for not taking it to that level of being racist, (from what I know of) I don’t know why people can’t show the same respect and quit trying to talk down on Obama because he is black.
Going back to my point a lot of these ads are getting out of control and I really don’t know who to believe any more, I just have to stick with my gut feeling on who I should vote for. There are a couple of websites you can go to, to find out the truth about these ads like Factcheck.org or Politifact.com, but then again anyone could be making up those websites and make up lies too.

Week of the DNC
The week of the DNC has affected me both positive and negative. I was affected in a positive way because, for one we got a week off of school, but I honestly think we should have started school after the DNC. Secondly, because I live in Denver and it is a great experience to be part of the DNC and the histoy of it being held in Denver. Third, because I heard their was going to be alot of celebrities out here and its very exciting because if you live in Denver or just Colorado you never see celebrities. Lastly, because it was very interesting watching Denver be created into this perfect image because so many people from all over the world is watching Denver for the whole week so Denver had to look like a great place to be at.
Even though the DNC affected me in a positive way, it still affected me in a negative way. The reason why is because, for one if it wasn't for the DNC then we would have started school later instead of earlier. Secondly, because of all of the threats of assinating Barack Obama has been pretty scary to hear about and hopefully they keep him safe and find all of those people who are trying to assinate him. Third, because every night I have been hearing helicopters flying and it has been pretty annoying. Lastly, because all of the traffic and street closures has made driving very miserable. Overall I have enjoyed everything that has been going on this week.

Statistics: Mental Disoders
http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/topics/statistics/index.shtml
I found this article about Mental Disorders very interesting because an estimate of 26.2 percent of Americans ages 18 and older suffer from a mental disorder. This disease is very well underestimated in the United States and through out the world. What really touched me about this subject is the fact that mental illness including suicide is accounted for more then 15% of the burden disease. Which is more then the disease caused by cancer. I really hope that there is something we can do about the high percent of mental disorders and find out what the cause of this illness is so the percent will lower.

First Blog Posting Assignment 1
http://www.denverpost.com/opinionheadlines/ci_10192883
In this article they talk about the death of 7-year old Chandler Grafner who was abused and starved to death by his foster parents. I find this article very interesting because not only has this happened once but to seven other children in the state of Colorado who were under the protection of social services. I will never understand why this keeps happening to children when adults and teachers see all of the signs of abuse. There is no excuse to why they don't come forward and approach the things they are seeing on these children to the police. I overall think that we need a better foster care system because it seems that these children are not safe in these foster care homes. Hopefully they will come up with a solution to better the foster care system so there wont be so many deaths of children who are under social services protection.
